Another news source alleges that the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, a faction which is strong in the Nayrab refugee camp, organized fighters who joined local NDF militias, which in turn coalesced into the Jerusalem Brigade in September 2013. |

Organisation: | The Jerusalem Brigade fights alongside the Syrian military and other pro-government militias. While the army is fighting, the Jerusalem Brigade is backing them, cleaning up, consolidating gains and protecting their flanks. Its joint operations with the Syrian army are reportedly conducted under supervision of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Brigade is led by Muhammed al-Sa’eed (also known as “The Engineer”) who is a native of the Nayrab refugee camps. Al-Sa’eed is also a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command. The Jersualem Brigade is under Al-Sa’eed’s direct command. |
