Details of Formation: The group emerged in 2000 as another force against armed Aceh secessionists, and also targeted unarmed civilian sympathizers. There are no details about its creation but it appears to be run by the military.
Details of Termination: A peace agreement was reached in 2002, after which there are no more reports about the group.
Purpose: The group was used by the government and the army to execute political opponents in Aceh in favour of the region’s independence, as well as human rights activists.
